About
I am a expressive and realistic painter from Canada passionate about telling inspirational stories through my artwork. My work builds on the expressionist and impressionist traditions as I explore my emotional connection to each subject. Particularly through the use of texture and color play I use a variety of textural mediums and painting tools in order to provide a statement unique to each finished painting. I paint mainly in acrylic paint on hardboard.
I received a Bachelor of Design degree from the Alberta College of Art and Design in Canada, and recently completed my Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration at the Academy of Art University located in San Francisco. Some of my influences include: Kazuhiko Sano, Dennis Budgen, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt, Mary Cassatt, and Claude Monet among many others.
My background in graphic design, extensive travels, and love for music all inform my creativity - bringing strong concepts, movement and emotion, and intense color to my art.
In 2006 my artwork for "Christmas Presence" was nominated for Best CD/DVD Artwork of the Year by GMA Canada. Take a look at the art and other albums I've been involved with in my photo section.
My studio is located near Chinatown in San Francisco, and when I’m not painting I spend my spare time shopping, playing piano and singing, reading, or enjoying the Bay Area.

We're having a "NEW WORSHIP MUSIC" Showcase at BVCC as a part of Gospel Music Association week. It's going to feature new songs by Jon Bauer, Chris Bray, Dan Macaulay, Tim Milner, Walter Schroeder, and myself... it's going to be an amazing night of worship! Thanks for helping me spread the word!
